Summer is here, but the fun you have doesn’t have to break the bank! Planning ahead is the best way to keep your summer fun times hanging ten without your bank accounts feeling like they’re hanging negative ten.

Here are some quick tips that can keep the fun times maximized while your money stays stabilized.

  • Set a Spending Limit: Whether it’s a vacation trip or a summer-time splurge, set a specific amount to spend and don’t go over! This is a simple way to keep your money in-check.
  • Use the Credit Card Wisely: If you choose to use the plastic, taking advantage of any travel perks and security features can be benefits, but don’t leave that balance on the card too long as the interest can grow quickly. Extra debt could be a summer bummer!
  • Some Summer Fun Can be Cost-Free: Spending time in nature, playing games on the beach, hiking, biking, and leisurely sunbathing can all be activities that don’t require a lot of cash. Look for ways to save and your summer bank account will thank you.

  • Flea Market = Money Savings: Taking a trip to the flea market can be entertaining, good exercise, and if you have a specific shopping aim in mind, you may be able to find items you need for even less than items at the dollar store. Give the secondhand market a try, especially on a sunny summer morning!
