Virginia Credit Union (VACU) is pleased to announce the addition of a third branch to serve the Fredericksburg area. Located at 5922 Plank Road, the branch is expected to open in mid-December.

"VACU continues to invest in and grow its branch network as we focus on creating value for our members," said VACU President/CEO Chris Shockley. "While we understand the important role digital access and our best-in-class digital solutions play in serving members, especially with everyday banking needs, branches represent a critical connection to our members and community and remain an integral part of our effort to provide a superior member experience."

The new 2,800-square-foot Chancellor Crossing branch will serve as a hub for personalized service, employing six staff members, including four financial success advisors dedicated to assisting members with everything from account-based transactions to loan applications. It will offer traditional banking services, including check cashing, cashier’s checks, and 24-hour ATM Plus access. The ATM Plus will offer several enhanced features, including the ability to make payments on cards and loans, transfer funds between accounts, and withdraw funds with bills other than $10 and $20.

Once opened, the branch will mark the 38th location for VACU and its Member One division, a testament to our growth and members' trust in us. It will also mark the sixth branch that has opened or relocated in the past two years. The credit union plans to open its 39th branch in the spring of 2025 in Chesterfield County as part of the Courthouse Landing development.

Including the branches of our Member One division, VACU's branch footprint now includes Fredericksburg, Greater Richmond, Charlottesville, Farmville, the Roanoke Valley, the New River Valley, and Lynchburg. Through our participation in the CO-OP Network, VACU members have access to a wide range of transaction services at the 5,000-plus branch locations of other participating credit unions, enhancing their banking convenience. VACU also offers ATM access worldwide, with numerous ways to avoid or save on fees at non-VACU and non-Member One ATMs.

"We're privileged to serve the Fredericksburg community, and we're thrilled to expand our presence and capabilities in this area," said VACU Executive Vice President of Member Services Tim Kelly. "Our mission is to help members achieve greater success, and an important component in making that possible is branch access. Through our branches, our expert staff is providing members with advice on their personal finance priorities and goals and helping them confidently navigate their most complex financial decisions."
