Member One Celebrates Grand Opening with Donation to Local Children’s Hospital
ShareMember One recently celebrated a grand opening at its 14th retail center with a donation to Carilion Children’s Hospital. The credit union’s new location, at 2926 Franklin Road SW in Roanoke, officially opened its doors in August and is located in the same neighborhood as the hospital.
Member One hosted a Grand Opening Week full of themed days, prizes, and a $2,500 donation to the region’s only pediatric hospital on behalf of all members who opened accounts during the week.
“We knew we wanted to begin our time in the South Roanoke neighborhood by giving back,” said Frank Giannini, Market Manager of the South Roanoke branch. “Carilion Children’s Hospital was the perfect fit for this donation because the hospital is a fixture of South Roanoke and plays a vital and positive role across our region. I’d like to thank our members who came in to open accounts during Grand Opening Week—they helped us celebrate in a more meaningful way for our community.”
Member One is a longtime community partner of Carilion Children’s Hospital. The Credit Union recently funded the renovation of the “Toddler Zone” in the hospital’s new playroom and had helped fund the renovation of the teen room in the past. In addition, Member One employees donate time and money filling and delivering Easter baskets for Carilion’s young patients each spring.
“We are grateful for Member One’s continued partnership and investment in improving the health and wellness of all children in our region,” said Linda Hodges, Development Officer with the Carilion Clinic Foundation. “Their support helps us ensure every child receives the care they need for a healthy future.”
