Member One Employees Pay to Park for CMN Hospitals
ShareROANOKE, VA (February 2020) — Member One Federal Credit Union’s employees have found another unique way to support the communities they serve. Their internal culture team, known as the One for All Committee, developed an idea to “sell” a prime parking spot on their administrative campus to raise funds for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals (CMNH). The parking spot, which is just outside the Administrative Building where more than half of the Credit Union’s 275+ employees work, is available for any employee to purchase for a $50 donation to CMNH. This donation entitles the employee to park in that highly-coveted spot for a full month. Within just 20 minutes of launching the new initiative to employees, the spot sold out for every month in 2020!
“Our Children’s Miracle Network family continues to grow as amazing organizations like Member One Federal Credit Union passionately support our local children’s hospital,” said Erin Henderson, Program Director for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals at Carilion Children’s. “It’s through fundraisers like this one where we really see the kind of people our community is made of — wonderful individuals with huge hearts! We are so grateful for the continued support of Member One Federal Credit Union for truly making a difference in the lives of all children treated at Carilion Children’s.”
Credit Union employees, CMNH staff, and two local Miracle Families – families who have directly benefitted from the services provided by Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals – painted the special parking spot to kick off the initiative.
“It has been so heartwarming to see the incredible employee response from this very creative fundraising idea,” said Lori Cauley, Chief Brand Officer of Member One. “I continue to be ‘wowed’ by our dynamite One for All Committee and their ability to engage employees in unique ways, as well as our generous employees who never miss an opportunity to give back to our communities.”
