The CUNA Finance Council will recognize Member One's Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, Alan Wade, as 2019 Volunteer of the Year at the Council’s 25th Annual Conference on May 20.

“It gives me great pleasure to announce that the 2019 inductee for Volunteer of the Year is Alan Wade,” said Sonya James, Awards and Recognition Chair for the CUNA Finance Council. “As a member-led organization, the Council relies on volunteers, and this award recognizes those contributions.”

Comprised of over 1,400 credit union finance professionals from across the United States, the CUNA Finance Council is dedicated to supporting the goals of member credit unions by cooperatively providing access to knowledge, expert resources, and leadership development.

Wade, who joined the CUNA Finance Council 26 years ago, is the organization’s longest-serving member. He was first elected to the Executive Committee in 2000. He has fulfilled the roles of Secretary/Treasurer and Conference Committee Chair, has served on the Scholarship Committee, and currently serves on the Membership Committee. As Conference Committee Chair, Wade brought the Council’s annual gathering to the city of Williamsburg, in his home state of Virginia.

“I am grateful to receive this recognition and even more grateful for the many professional relationships I have cultivated as a member of the CUNA Finance Council,” said Wade. “As long as we stay focused on the real reason that credit unions exist—to serve our members—then I believe the Finance Council has a very bright future indeed, and it is my honor to continue playing a part in it.”

The CUNA Finance Council’s 25th Annual Conference will take place on Monday, May 20 at the New York Hilton Midtown. Wade will be inducted during the conference’s membership luncheon.
