Member One FCU Announces Chief Transformation Officer

Member One Federal Credit Union is proud to announce the recent promotion of Patience O’Brien to Chief Transformation Officer.

“Patience O’Brien is a strategist and innovator at heart who brings decades of successful experience in corporate and nonprofit settings leading major initiatives,” stated Jean Hopstetter, Senior Executive Vice President. “In her previous role as Senior Vice President of Corporate Projects, O’Brien promoted positive change through human-centered innovation and executed enterprise-level projects that improved the financial lives of Credit Union members. O’Brien’s experiences in diverse service sectors drive her desire to improve the livability of the community, fostering healthier and happier lives; which makes O’Brien a great fit for the new role of Chief Transformation Officer.”

O’Brien holds a BS degree in Human Services Counseling from Old Dominion University and a MA degree in Clinical Psychology from Saint Michael’s College. She is a Certified Credit Union Executive (CCUE) and has a Project Management Professional (PMP) certification. She has also earned certificates in Business Strategy and Design Thinking from UVA Darden School Foundation. O’Brien is a 2011 graduate of Leadership Roanoke Valley, and served nine years as advisor, program Chair, and alumni Chair promoting leadership collaboration to address the Roanoke Valley’s greatest challenges. As a long-time Roanoke resident, O’Brien is passionate about community health and well-being.
